Before we started making it over after it retired a few years back, the roomy sleeper included a sink, microwave, and shower/toilet combination stall. Dennis's parents, Kay and Keith, drove the truck until Keith's passing, and Dennis took over until after opening Empire Chrome. His father-in-law Gene then drove the Beast for a couple of years until coming to work in the chrome shop full time. Ever since, we've been parking it out front Monday through Saturday. Dozens of people have offered to buy it, but this one's not for sale.
A partially-completed restoration and makeover has included a new paint job of the original "Firethorn" color, the addition of a custom-built cab and sleeper kit and bumper, along with fiberglass full fenders and several stock stainless steel trims. The interior isn't nearly as pretty yet, because we just haven't had the time to finish it! The whole of the sleeper has been stripped - no more shower, bed, or most of the cabinets. We even removed the seats and sat on a bucket for over a year - but it has a driver's seat now. The inside has been reupholstered with an Egyptian theme to match the custom-sculpted "Sphinx" hood ornament.
